Hello, I'm new to Shadow Protect.
A server with 2 virtual servers installed. Each virtual server has multiple partiions and they have a NAS unit to back up data to. How best to back up each partition within a virtual server? One of the virtual servers has 5 partitions, should I set up a different backup job for each partition or ONE backup job for all 5 partitions?
I'm thinking to use continnuous incremental backup and runs image manager to consolidate them once a week.

I'm new to ShadowProtect and I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me out with a very simple question. My apologies if this question has been so before but I have done a thorough search of forums, knowledge base and documentation without any luck.
I need to backup several VM's from 2012 Hyper-V server. I would like to just be able to backup the VHD's so I can restore them to another Hyper-V host easily. I also want to run the backup job from either the host or a dedicated backup server. I do not want to create a backup job on each VM. Is this something that Storagecraft can do and if so how do I go about it? The virtual machines are stored on a SAN and are accessed via CSV's. I downloaded and installed Shadowprotect Virtual edition but I don't see how it's possible to backup the VM's.
We've been having issues with DFS replication never completing and I just realized I think its related to shadowprotect and I was hoping someone could shed some insight. We have a DFS namespace that replicates out to all of our remote sites. For the last few months when we put larger files in there, it tries to replicate for long periods but never completes. I have been looking at the logs and just realized that on every server, at every half hour when shadowprotect backs up, the DFS replication service stops during the backup and then restarts with the event:

One of our clients shadow backup has been constantly failing. They run SBS08 on a ESX 4 environment. The ESX does not allow for USB pass thru so Shadow backups up to a external drive plugged into a work station which shared over the network.
A continous incremental job runs on each over the server drives for which there are 4. One of the 4 drives' backup is failing.

I need to deploy ShadowProtect to 100+ machines. Mostly VMs.
What is the easiest way to do this? Do I need to create 100+ seperate jobs or can I duplicate a job to all machines?
In the case of a big crash, what is the best way to restore a lot of VMs from backup?

Unfortunately I have a situation where Shadow v5 was installed onto a system which was licensed for v4.
After removing v5 and re-installing v4, get the above error when selecting Product Activation, so am not able to re-enter the license code.

I'm new to ShadowProtect and I have recently inherited a network using it. I have had to rebuild the server (2008 R2) and restore all the data which went really well and I'm in the process of setting up the backup. The site uses a 3TB USB drive to backup the OS and data drive (drive D approx 180GB) which unfortunately does not get swapped out despite my concerns.
I'm just curious what most people follow for how often they upgrade the shadowprotect installations? We have 30+ servers being backed up with shadowprotect, plus 10 "backup" servers that store the images, run image manager, and are prepped for emergency virtual boot. Considering it seems most upgrades require reboots they need to be done during down time and that many servers will be time consuming.
Does ShadowProtect currently support backing up Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs), as used by Microsoft Hyper-V failover clusters?

Am I mistaken? I thought I read that to do a restore from the recovery environment (windows or linux version, does it matter?) it has to see a shadowprotect license in the backup image / previously installed on the server?

I upgraded all of my shadowprotect installs and virtual boot last week. I am trying to do a test virtual boot, and I'm getting the error "Fatal: Could not read from the boot medium! System Halted."
It seems as though upgrading VirtualBoot screwed up the VM plug ins. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried copying the correct DLLs out of the Storagecraft folder but that hasn't helped.

I have a case open but wanted to post here, too. We're trying to restore multiple Windows 2008 32-bit servers which are currently on Citrix XenServer 6.1 to a new VMware ESXi 5.5U1 installation. Every 32-bit box blue screens when trying to boot, post-restore (even if we try to boot into Safe Mode). 64-bit 2008 or 2008 R2 or even Server 2012 can all restore normally and operate fine in the VMware environment.
