I'm trying to troubleshoot why a full backup is taking over 24hrs. It's a 300GB drive on a virtual server being backed up over a 1Gbps connection. Each nic is 1Gbps and both machines are on the same vlan plugged into the same 1Gbps switch using cat6. Is there a tool that I can run that will test the actual connection speed between the two machines? Both OS are Server 2008 R2.

Mail Relay Not Working - ShadowProtect
ShadowProtect Virtual Server 5.1.4.32348 - when configuring Agent Options to email (just like I have already completed successfully with Image Manager on the same server), it states it is unable to relay. However, Image Manager has no problems relaying, nor do I have any issues when doing so via command line. not sure what Agent Options I would have to change to allow this?

Headstart Restore Rollback
Hi Guys, We are in the stages of testing our disaster recovery plan for one of our clients, currently their SBS 2011 server and Sharepoint server are being sync'd with a headstart restore job to one of our offsite Hyper V servers. We have successfully tested finalizing the headstart job's and booting both servers in a Hyper V virtual environment.
email from Shadow Protect 5 a mystery
Hello,
I have several client backups that I monitor. This is a combination of sp sbs 4 (5 clients) and sp sbs 5 (2 clients) that send email on success or failure. Yesterday the sp sbs 5 stopped sending me email. I logon to the sp 5 and go to options and click test email and the response is successful email. but I get no email. Any suggestions?
Thank You,
Joe
Image Conversion Tool - Wizard initialization failed Unspecified error
Hey Guys
I'm trying to use the ShadowProtect Image Conversion Tool to convert a ShadowProtect backup image to VHD.
I run the tool, choose VHD as the export, choose the backup image and image date and output folder, then click finish. Then about 3 seconds later I get the following error: Wizard initialization failed Unspecified error
I'm using ShadowProtect Server Edition 5.1.5.33811
I've verified the image files are consolidated and I can mount them.
Couple of things to note:
Event for license expired
Hi!
There seems to be no indication in the Event Log or anywhere else I can find that can alert me if my license has expired. Jobs just don't run, but all else appears normal.
Can you let me know if there is a way to know when the license has expired, hopefully by a Windows Event?
Thanks.

Restoring on to the Vmware Workstation
Hello Everyone i am using Server Edition Version 3.5.2 and i am backing up windows server 2003.
504 Cannot query the incremental tracking state (-2 The system cannot find the file specified.)
This one has been bothering us for months. We've run through uninstalling and reinstalling. We used revo uninstaller to make sure we got it all. Reinstalled with psexec. Updated everything we could on the server. Ran chkdsk /all of them. Still cannot figure out why this error continues to stick.

Restoring to VMWare ESXi Host
Hi,
I am trying to restore a Windows Server 2008 32-bit image to a new virtual machine on VMWare ESXi 5.5.
I have booted the Shadowprotect RE CD and restored the volume from the latest incremental via a network share and the restore has completed successfully. The BCU says the volume is bootable. The partition is active. I have run HIR.
When I reboot the machine, it says operating system not found. I tried running HIR again, still no good. Also tried fixing BCD, also no good.
Unable to script chkdsk on mounted drive
I am trying to make a script to automatically mount latest image then run chkdsk.
Based on old post on this forum, I found the MountLatest.vbs
The automount part is figured. However, I can't run chkdsk with it.
What I tried so far
WMI via Windows Script Host, I got error 3 which means unknown failure
WMI via PowerShell, I got error 3 which means unknown failure
If I schedule to run chkdsk command directly. It works but I couldn't find a way to see if it was a success or failure.
Any thought or suggestion?
BSOD after VBoot with incremental
I have windows 2012 backup. I tried to do some DR test. The virtual boot boot up fine to windows and then bluescreen during windows boot up.
I tried to VBOOT the base image, it works fine.
Could n't think of any change. Any thought on this? would this qualified to open a support ticket?
*EDIT Add more info*
I am able to mount the image just fine.
When I try to VBoot the monthly consolidate file (imagename-cm-cr.spi). It did not pick up both C and E drive.

Error Excluding pagefile.sys
<p>Hello!</p><p>I've got following issue: I'm using ShadowProtect Virtual Edition to back up 2 virtual machines. One VM is running Windows 7 and the other one Server 2012 Standard. Hypervisor is Hyper-V. The Backup of Windows 7 works fine, but backing up the Server doesn't. There's an error in the logfile saying that pagefile.sys can't be excluded because it's used by another process (error codes are sbvol 116 and 505).
What are the procedures for doing a bare metal restore on a Dell server?
Forward::
As we discovered from another thread, StorageProtect cannot restore to servers with Dell's default PERC S Series controllers. Thus, I purchased a new PERC H700, which tech support assures me will work. I plan to install it this weekend. This will require a full restore. I will have current MS backups as well. I would like to do the restore using ShadowProtect in order to prove that ShadowProtectbare metal restores work before I roll out any more.
How to check, if the licence key will work with version 5
Hello community,
one of our customers uses SC SBS Edition 4.1.5.10129. Today I was thinking about updating to the current version 4.2.7. First question here: This shouldnt be a problem, right? Simply download and install it?
Next question here: How can I verify if his licence key might also work with the current version 5? Any idea on that?
Regard + Thanks in advance
Daniel
Any license issues after restore?
I have a Dell T310 with SBS 2008 that I plan to upgrade from an S300 controller to an H700 controller. I plan to:
1. Mark and pull the current drives and S300 controller.
2. Install the H700 and set up a 2TB disk as a RAID-0 and restore to it to make sure the backups work.
3. Remove the 2TB drive and set up the disks in a RAID-5 on the H700
4. Restore.
1. Will there be any license issues with ShadowProtect?
2. Will ther e be any license issues with the SBS 2008 restore?
Thanks!
Only Manual Backup is able to backup all partitions to enable a bare-metal restore, Continuous Incremental cannot?
I noticed that only the Manual Backup is able to backup all partitions. Continuous incremental cannot.
In the default Dell install there are 4 partitions, Unknown (pri, unknown), Recovery (NTFS), OS (pri, NTFS), and DataPart1 (logical, NTFS). (See attached) Unknown is actually Dell's diagnostic partition, which like the OS partition, is primary, and also shows it uses an Unknown format. DataPart1 is a logical drive on an extended partition.
