Adding server 2012 to the Management view

Hello,

I am running ShadowProtect 5.15 and I am trying to add machines to my management view.  I have been successful adding a VM guest SBS 2011 server, a VPN client sbs 2011 server and a VM guest Windows 7 machine.  I am unsuccessful adding two Server 2012 machines.  I get access denied on both machines.  Both machines are VM guests that are not on a domain and have to firewall turned off and UAC turned off.   I can access both server 2012 from my Explorer.  Is ther something special about Server 2012 ?

After NAS failure - Shadowprotect wants to start incremental from last full

My NAS had a RAID failure, but I was replicating to a local drive(s) (since this happened before).  However, since it did not replicate until the day, it did not process(replicate) the last days worth of incrementals.  Since I have the chain in place I planned on changing the destination of the snapshots to the replication directories and plugging in USB drives for replication until the RAID finishes building.  However, the program thinks that it created a handful of snapshots from day before and wants to base the incremental off the base image since it can't find the one it

Managing a TMG 2010 server remotely - not seeing images in Destinations tab or Verify Image tool.

Hi,

I've installed the Shadowprotect agent and management interface on a TMG 2010 running 2008R2 and that is working fine.  It's saving backups to a network share on a dedicated system with the shadowprotect management interface installed.

Schedules missed, service won't stop

We look after a number of ShadowProtect sites running a few versions of Windows - primarily Windows 2008 R2 and SBS 2011.

The problem we are having, is that while ShadowProtect's GUI will run OK, randomly, jobs will fail to run and will stay that way until I kill the shadowprotectsvc.exe process and restart it. I don't believe the service has frozen, though - the ShadowProtect GUI works just fine - I can manipulate jobs, look at histories etc. I just can't get the thing to adhere to its schedule.

fortnightly backups

Hi All,

I would like to find out how I can schedule fortnightly backups so I can use the weekends to backup to two NAS drives on alternate weekends (even weeks to NAS1 and odd weeks to NAS2).

Can this be done through the job creation wizard?

(loader) 504 Final error (-2 The system cannot find the file specified.)

Hi,

One of the incremental backups failed and returned this error:

(loader) 504 Final error (-2 The system cannot find the file specified.)

The after that the rest of the backups have been working fine. This issue has happened before a few weeks back.

I am unable to figure out the cause of the issue.

ShadowProtect Server Edition - Zenit Infotech

Hello,

We've got some old servers that are using ShadowProtect Server Edition, with the Zenit Infotech system (old). Some of them are experiencing problems with sending mails when the backup has failed/succeeded. When I go the Agent Options and try to send a test mail, I get the following error:

The system cannot find the file specified.

500 Unexpected end of the image file Continous Backups Version 5.4.32340

Hi there,

First time posting on this fourm, hoping someone can help. I've got a Server running 5.4.32340 that is failing on automated and manually started incremental backups with terror 50 "Unexepected end of the image file", I've done the normal stuff like check that the destination configured is accessible with the credenitals provided, setup a new user etc.

Restore Hyper-V and change volume sizes

I have a 2012 R2 Hyper-V Host that has a guest running 2008R2.  I have backed up the guest completely from inside the guest OS.  I need to restore it and change the volume sizes.  Can someone point me to some documentation that will guide me through this?  I searched but obviously missed the class on "Secret words to find everything you were searching for".

I appear to be missing something obvious. In the Backup History Tab I am only getting the Job History pane. I do not get the Job Log pane. Any ideas on how to get the Job Log pane back.

Backing up "Cloud" to On Premise (not the otherw way around)

When planning to move certain services to "the cloud" I found very little information on how to backup the (windows) cloud instances back to to a safe, on premise backup server. From a risk management point of view to keep the server in the cloud as well as all the backup of the servers in the cloud does not allow for contingency if there is any issue with the cloud provider - or for some reason a hacker gets access to your account at AWS, Azure or Google Compute.

SBS 2008, StorageCraft 5.2, guidance with Backup and Sync NAS 2 NAS

Dear All

We are a small business in the middle of Switzerland, with 1 main Server (so you see, it's important:-).

I have just resently upgraded from the Windows internal Backup to StorageCraft 5.2 for SBS 2008 and a QNAP NAS as the storage system. I am really pleased with how the systems perfoms.

I have StorageCraft configured to create incrementals, each 120 Minutes and a full each weekend. Retention is set to 4, so I could go back a month if required. That's great and works really well.

Incremental backup jobs failing

ShadowProtect Version 5.0.4.27363

We have shadowprotect installed on windows server 2003 and 2 schedule incremental jobs for C drives and D drives.

The backup job for D drive stopped working since Friday, but the C drive still works fine.

Shadow Protect is in a disconnect mode after server reboot.

For the past 3 months or so everytime I reboot the server at one clients the shadow protect software is stuck in disconnect mode after the reboot.  The server is a SBS 2011 box and shadow protect is turned on at startup when I go into the software it just says connecting and never actually connects.  Today I actually got errors with it.  One said it can't connect to volumes and another was something about agent 39.

ImageReady and Exchange

I keep seeing things in the Imageready docs about custom scripts to check an exchange database but no examples.  Has anyone actually set this up? If so can you share the script?

ShadowProtect and Exchange 2010

Current Exchange 2010 server running under CItrix XenServer 6.1  - protected by current release of ShadowProtect, and that works great.  Howvever...when trying to restore the server to VMware 5.1U1 - it breaks outbound Exchange email. I have been reading a bunch of posts elsewhere about SID issues, but wanted to check with StorageCraft support or other forum members about getting this to work.  We're migrating to VMware from XenServer and so far this has gone quite well (a bump or two) utilizing ShadowProtect.  But Exchange is not playing nicely on this.
