Restoring volume to VHDX file
I have a high priority case open but can't get a hold of anyone. I'm trying to restore the backup of a 12TB data partition (not bootable) to a VHDX file so I can attach it to a Hyper-V VM. If I try to restore it to VHD file, it says "There was a general error" or "There was an internal error". The person I was working with suspected that the partition is over the VHD limit of 2TB and I needed to restore to VHDX instead.
However, in SPX there is only an option for VHD or VMDK. What do I do?

Hyper-V Socket Licence Service Installation
Morning All,
Little bit of confusion installing The Socket Licencing service.here. Might just be me but I'm just looking for some clarification for the install.
The elements -
Socket Licencing Service
Shadowprotect SPX
Now, Should I be installing the "service" on any other machine outwith the Hyper-V Host Server where the VM's reside? Or can I install this on a VM on the host?
Install Shadowprotect SPX onto the VM's I wish to backup?

New User, How to Recover existing VM
We have taken over support for a client who has a hyper-V server with two virtual servers contained therein. ShadowProtect runs on each of these two virtual servers, creating backups to a NAS drive and to an external hard drive attached to the physical server. We cannot seem to find the ShadowProtect CD or download.
My question is, if we needed to restore these virtual servers to new hardware, what would we have to do?

VM Activation Error
I'm trying to activate SPX on my first VM. I have installed Socket Licencing service on another VM. I have opened the web console and added the HOST Server housing the VM's. This comes back as "okay" so that looks fine. Upon trying to activate SPX it comes back with the error "unable to find hypervisor information for this machine. Please check the configuration of your StorageCraft Licencing service". It is the HOST information I have to put into the web console as opposed to the VM info?
Any help greatfully received!

iSCSI vs Network Share on NAS
I have a Synology NAS that I wasnt to use to store backups, and I was wondering which I should use. Is there any benefit to using it as a shared folder, instead of iSCSI or vice versa? I will have 4GBPS connection to the unit and I want to know which will provide better performance.

How to recover the Licenses which wasn't deactivated properly and server is no longer in production.
To Whom it may concern,
We have version 4 and 5 of Physical Server Licenses in our environment. Some of the License are not in used due to the hardware no longer and not in production. I would like to recover the license for re-purpose on another Physical Server. How can I recover?

Bare Metal Restore Fails HIR
We have SBS edition of Shadowprotect running on our server. It does a full backup on the first day of every month and then incrementals once per day. The backups are done to a NAS. I have external USB drives to copy from the NAS and take offsite. One of the reasons for using Shadowprotect was the ability to do a bare metal recovery of the server in case of fire, flood, theft etc.

Can't Eject External Hard Drive
I've tried stopping the Storagecraft services along with the QBCF Monitoring Service, but still can't eject the drive. Process Explorer shows the following handles. But I system won't allow me to delete these. Need to swap out hard drives easily without taking down the server. What should I do? Thanks. Rick

Virtual Boot Not Working
Trying to virtual boot a backup of a 2012 server
I have Virtual Box 4.2.4
VT-x is enabled in bios
I get error message
Unable to continue. The specified backup image for the OS volume does not contain a supported target operating system.
Have tried Google search but no useul information
Can anyone help

How to setup a off site backup to usb hdd or another device
I currently have an incremental backup to a NAS but i need a off site backup solution. I have 5 usb HDD which i can use but I need to get backup 4Tb of data completed within 12 hours. What i need is an incremental backup to 5 x USB HDD or 5 x small NAS devices. If you have a white paper you can recommend please send me the link.

scheduled backup job stuck at "aborting"
Hi,
We have ShadowProtect 5.0.3xxxx on a Windows server. 3 other servers are being backed up to this one. Has been running fine for a few years.
Last week ShadowProtect stuck at "aborting" a scheduled back up job. The other two server jobs are still running fine. I cannot stop, change, or delete that stuck job.
I disabled the SP services, rebotted and enabled the services- job still stuck at "aborting" .

Can I use the new version of image manager with older shadowprotect 4.2.5.
Or does anyone have a information on what versions are compatible?

Backup cannot be determined
Hello guys,
Firstly, i would like to say hello to everybody and that I am very very new to the MSP world and have only just started a new job using StorageCraft Shadow Protect.
I look after a server that uses Shadow Protect backup software and through Solarwinds MSP states the backup status cannot be determined, is there a file which is referenced for this? Or a registry key that it looks for?

SPX backup location unable to locate the supplied destination path
Hello all,
I just upgraded SPX to ver. 6.5.1 and now one (at least one, havent checked others yet) of my servers with SPX will no longer backup to the destination store. It's on the same subnet and when I click "Verify Access" button, it succeeds. But when I click the Save button, it gives the error "Unable to locate the supplied destination path. Please verify that the path you entered is a valid directory." I've verified it many times, can browse to it as well. The network share is hidden with $ at the end. Anyone else run into this or have suggestions?
